Welcome to the October 2026 issue of Personal Care Magazine. AI is a topic that is gaining
ever more attention with each passing week. Seemingly everyone from the President
of the United States down has a view on it, good or bad. It is a subject that divides opinion. Some feel
threatened by the possibility that automation will replace (or even destroy!) humans and increase unemployment. Some are excited by the possibility of AI doing mundane tasks that will free up time to do more creative and valuable work. Some are a little from Pot A and a little from Pot B. AI is a subject that crops up in this month’s
interview with Kelly Dobos, a well-known industry face who is followed by tens of thousands on LinkedIn for her informative posts. In a forward-looking interview on page 16, Kelly
shares her insight on AI and how it will affect the way we work. She also discusses cosmetics innovation, education, regulation and trends. Tapping into the longevity trend, menopausal
skin care has become another hot topic. In this issue, Anne Charpentier of Skinobs examines the menopausal transition of skin, perimenopause included, and why it calls for refined in vivo characterisation testing (page 51). Elsewhere in this issue, Vytrus Biotech presents what it claims to be the first cosmetic tolerogen: a plant-derived recombinant human protein said to re-educate hyperreactive urban skin. There is also plenty in this issue on hair and scalp
care, with articles from Giga Fine Chemical, Active Concepts, Advancion, Biosyntia and Trendier AI. We also feature a 13-page, in-depth preview of
in-cosmetics Asia, which takes place in Bangkok next month. This year’s edition will be the largest to date, bringing together more than 770 global and regional exhibitors - 10% more than in 2025. Enjoy the magazine.
