dominant species, makes it possible to highlight an effect of Capibiome on the scalp microbiota. The product increases both the P. acnes / S. epidermidis ratio and the M. globosa / M. restricta ratio, respectively by +5% and +50% (Fig 5). These results are in favour of a reduction of dandruff, which is confirmed by the results of the clinical evaluation of scalp condition conducted on the volunteers. After 4 weeks of treatments with Capibiome, a significant decrease in scaling is observed: -52% on average (p<0.001), and up to 100%. The clinical assessments also revealed a positive impact of the treatment on the global scalp condition, which can be visualised in Figure 6. The scalp is significantly soothed after 4 weeks of use of Capibiome: itching and prickling are significantly reduced by -59% and -78% respectively (p<0.001), and up to 100%.

Conclusion Skin microbiota equilibrium seems to be determinant for skin health. Although the mechanisms leading to dysbiosis are not

always clearly identified, ecosystem rebalancing is an interesting strategy to improve skin disorders. Here we presented two eco-friendly active ingredients that work in partnership with the microbiota to return to “healthy” skin and scalp conditions.
