NEVADA – Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, part of Curio Collection by Hilton, is on course to open on time in November, but will likely delay the opening due to the coronavirus pandemic.


“Construction of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas remains on schedule and the operations team is expected to receive the keys to the property in early November,” stated Richard Bosworth, President and CEO of JC Hospitality, owner of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. “However, due to current COVID-19 regulations, market conditions and recent event and convention cancellations, the ownership group is carefully evaluating the previously announced Fall 2020 opening date. The reconceptualisation lifestyle resort will feature innovative design and function with 1,505 appointed Chambers, Grand Chamber Suites and Penthouse Suites in three luxurious towers, Ruby, Opal and Canyon. All Chambers will include the Virgin Hotels patented bed and in-room technology. Virgin Hotels Las Vegas will be home to the first tribal casino in the city, Mohegan Sun Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, an immersive 60,000sq.ft casino, operated by Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment. Technology giant, 3M, has decided to exit its Touch Systems business and plans to discontinue all Surface Capacitive, Projected Capacitive and display products currently in production. According to details from suppliers, the last shipments of 3M screens is expected to be completed by the end of March 2021, though the company is to stop taking orders from October 31.


According to 3M, the decision was made to allow the Display Materials and Systems Division to focus on significant growth areas that are better aligned to 3M’s fundamental strengths. Te reality is that numerous suppliers capable of providing product, ranging wildly in price and quality, have been flooding the p-cap component market.

Scientific Games has launched retail sports betting for FireKeepers Casino, owned by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP), and is working with FireKeepers to expand that effort to include digital sports betting and iGaming when regulation opens within the state of Michigan.
