US - AGEM adds six new members The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) has approved the membership applications of six new companies, bringing the trade group comprised of the world’s leading gaming suppliers to a total of 184 members, an all-time high.
“AGEM appreciates the companies that have applied for membership in the recent months as all of the gaming suppliers have been working through the negative impacts brought on by the COVID-19 virus,” said AGEM Executive Director Marcus Prater. “AGEM’s new fiscal year began April 1 and we have suspended the collection of dues this year for all existing members as a small gesture of assistance for suppliers hit hard by the pandemic as we attempt to navigate this new landscape together.”
The new AGEM members Empire Technological Group, based in Las Vegas, Global Market Advisors (GMA), based in Denver, KPMG LLP, based in Amstelveen, Netherlands, Marker Trax, based in Las Vegas, Omron, based in Kyoto, Japan and Sparks Marketing Corporation, based in Las Vegas.

New York - Blackstone raises $8bn debt fund The investment fund with a penchant for gaming acquisitions, Blackstone has gathered together an US$8bn property debt fund. Low interest rates and the potential for high returns during the pandemic has created the largest real estate credit fund ever raised, aimed at acquiring Covid-related opportunities.
In 2020, Blackstone has invested $360m purchasing Crown Resort shares from Melco Resorts, having earlier acquired real estate assets from MGM Resorts on the Vegas Strip for $4.25bn. Manhattan-based Blackstone’s real estate debt business has $26bn of property debt assets under management, up from $10 billion five years ago. Overall, its global real estate portfolio is valued at $329bn.
US - Caesars and VICI agree $400m mortgage Caesars Entertainment's subsidiary's has entered into a $400m mortgage with a subsidiary of VICI Properties, secured by the CAESARS FORUM Conference Center in Las Vegas. The five-year mortgage will initially bear interest at a rate of 7.7 per cent and will be pre-payable beginning in year three, subject to certain conditions (and may be prepaid earlier in the case that VICI acquires the CAESARS FORUM Conference Center, subject to VICI's consent).

Gaming Commission Chairman John Moran Jr. said he was happy to lend his support to the opening the casino, which will debut around two months before the rest of the hotel, as it would provide a boost to Las Vegas and to Nevada. Gaming Commissioner Deborah J. Fuetsch added: “In a crazy year like 2020, this is a positive. Something new and exciting is what we need down in Las Vegas.”

Boyd Gaming has confirmed that Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel in Vinton, Louisiana, reopened to the public on September 16. Te property had been closed since late August due to damage from Hurricane Laura. With recovery efforts still continuing, Boyd Gaming has committed to providing more than $1.5m in relief to Delta Downs team members and the broader southwest Louisiana community. “While we are glad to get our doors back open at Delta Downs, our highest priority is helping our team members and neighbours during these extremely difficult times," said Keith Smith, President and CEO of Boyd Gaming. Boyd Gaming provided direct financial assistance to all team members, including the continuation of full pay and benefits during the closure period.

Nevada BetMGM sports betting partner of Vegas Raiders
BetMGM, the joint venture between MGM Resorts International and GVC International, and the Las Vegas Raiders have announced that BetMGM is now An Official Sports Betting Partner of the Raiders. Te partnership is an extension of an existing multi-year deal with MGM and the Raiders.
