In 2011, we began our journey in Nigeria, marking our initial entry into the market. At the time, local operators dominated the scene, focusing on traditional sports betting, notably football and horse racing. Despite our entry into the retail sector, we encountered competition from various short-lived ventures.


However, over time, the landscape stabilised, with a few key players emerging as dominant forces in the market. During our early days, our primary focus was on establishing a presence in East Africa, with expansions into Uganda and Kenya. This strategic move laid the groundwork for us to broaden our horizons and explore opportunities beyond.


Many of the other markets during that time were still developing, presenting us with early opportunities to carve out a niche for ourselves. It was during this period that we witnessed the emergence of virtual sports as a principal product, which further fuelled our expansion efforts.


Operators recognised the value of having a product which was cost-effective to operate. It is simpler than traditional sports betting without as much risk. Players soon found that the high-frequency nature of virtual events meant there were betting opportunities every five minutes, around the clock.


This made a lot of sense for operators and the products proved to be high-margin. We initiated our expansion into additional markets while simultaneously enhancing our content offering, resulting in our current presence in approximately 35 markets across Africa. Over the years, we've cultivated a trusted brand and curated a successful portfolio of games, delivering excellent results for operators. Through this journey, we've gained unparalleled insights into African markets, setting us apart in understanding the unique nuances of the region's betting landscape.
