We'd only just unveiled the Helix cabinet and Lightning link was about to launch. So, it was a very different time. I was brought in with the sole purpose to focus on our North American product portfolio. Te time I spent travelling the country, understanding the diversity of the consumers, and building those relationships with the sales teams and our customers has no doubt helped me over the ensuing years.
Was the role of Chief Product Officer a major step change from your previous roles with Aristocrat? Is it different from what you've been doing previously or is it just a bigger role?
It's a little bit of both. I think when you move from one rung below the executive steering committee, it's not one rung up the ladder, it's several. Te enterprise leadership experience you need, the mentality to run the business and make the big decisions, it’s a huge step change and I'm very mindful of that.
Ultimately, I’m still the gaming CPO. I intimately know the teams, the products, and the markets. However, Tere's a lot of nuance to every part of the business; the diversity of the real money gaming business, the geographical dispersion, new customers, as well as our social business. I’ve been based in Las Vegas for most of the last decade. Obviously, COVID was an odd time for all of us, but we love it here. It's a second home and it’s been amazing to see how much the city's grown and evolved over the last 10 years.

If I could make the best game, I would, but I can't. So instead, I help the people who can get the time and focus they need. And so I travel a lot in combination with Zoom, which has been a real step change, allowing greater flexibility with our timings. I'm a big believer in meeting up with people when and where it's convenient for them, not the other way around. I think that respect goes both ways,
