Osage Kick-Starts Tusla Relocations

Te Osage Nation has started construction on two Oklahoma casino projects, one in Bartlesville and one in Pawhuska, both relocating existing licences.

Construction of both properties requires an investment of $90m from the tribe.


WISCONSIN – Menominee Casino Resort has confirmed that its sudden closure in May was due to a cyberattack on the Wisconsin property. Menominee officials said they were working with cybersecurity and forensic experts from the FBI to investigate and assess the impact of the 'attempted external attack on computer systems.' The casino does not believe any secure information had been compromised.

Tribal Chairman Gunner Peters said the breach was 'beyond significant, so we had to close.'

Casino officials have not yet confirmed whether the attack was followed by a ransom demand, but Daniel Hansen, General Manager of Menominee Casino Resort, said it was a definite attempt to shutdown the casino with the financial impact expected to be 'substantial.'

Mr. Hansen said: "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties due to an attempted external attack on our computer systems. We are actively working with law enforcement, cybersecurity and forensic experts to investigate and assess the impact caused by this attempt prior to bringing our systems back online.”

CANADA – The Canadian Premier League has signed a multi-year deal with ComeOn! as the official sports betting and onlin casino partner of the Canadian Premier League. Through this new partnership, the ComeOn! logo will be featured on a CPL Club jersey starting with the 2021 season.

KANSAS – Bally’s Corporation has entered into a multi-year market arrangement with Boot Hill Casino & Resort, located in Dodge City, Kansas.

With the pending Kansas state sports betting legislation, Boot Hill Casino is committed, as a manager on behalf of the Kansas Lottery, to timely and effectively implement “Bally Bet,” Bally’s mobile sportsbook, to provide Kansas sports fans access to sports betting upon enactment of the legislation. Bally’s expects that its media partnership with Sinclair Broadcast Group, which provides it with access to integrate content into Sinclair’s portfolio of 19 regional sports networks, will also attract sports fans in neighboring states to the Kansas mobile sportsbook.


Te Osage Nation has started construction on two Tulsa, Oklahoma, casino projects, one in Bartlesville and one in Pawhuska, with both relocating existing licences operated by the tribe in Osage County.

Construction of both properties will need an investment of $90m from the tribe. Te aim is to open them to the public in the autumn of 2022, bringing hotels, pools, spas, fitness areas and meeting space, which are not present in the current Bartlesville and Pawhuska casinos, to the mix.

Te new Bartlesville casino will have 500 slot machines, an increase from the current 440 slot machines. It will also offer 101 hotel rooms and 10,560 square feet of meeting space.

Te new Pawhuska casino will boast a 47-room hotel and 7,800sq.ft of meeting space, along with 250 slot machines, an increase from the current casino's 170 machines.

A Deloitte report commissioned by the National Assembly of Quebec’s Finance Minister, Eric Girard, has resulted in the barring of criminals from casinos in the province.
