Munich, Germany — According to industry association VDMA’s latest survey, the German electronics industry is seeing its strongest sales year since 2014. Manufacturers of systems, components and equipment for electronics manufacturing are expecting growth to reach 10.5 per- cent. Reasons for the expansion include greater demand for semicon- ductors in the automotive industry and the growing need for digitization

in manufacturing. This year’s productronica, which

takes place November 14-18 at Messe München in Munich, Ger many, will focus on the future of electronics development and production. Besides robotics and miniaturization, the trade show includes semiconductors and digitalization solutions. Falk Senger, managing director

at Messe München, is optimistic about productronica. “Trade shows

We offer a comprehen- sive overview of electronics manufac- turing, semiconductors and Industry 4.0,” he stated. Exhibits will be bro- ken into five segments: a PCB and EMS marketplace; SMT; cables, coils and hybrids; the future markets clus- ter; and semiconductors. EMS providers and PCB manu-

facturers are the foundation of elec- tronics production. With its PCB and EMS marketplace, productronica offers a platform for these sectors. Exhibits cover everything from the

manufacture of circuit substrates to the system solutions of EMS providers. The core of electronics manufac-

turing, SMT, along with develop- ments in miniaturization and weight reduction, make it possible to manu- facture incredibly complex devices. At productronica, exhibitors will present the entire value chain, from place- ment, soldering, and test and meas- urement, to QA and product finishing. Despite the trend toward wire-
