NRS understand that there are a significant number of people who have lower level needs which are not eligible to be met by most statutory services. In order to prevent these needs increasing to a higher level quickly it is important that they are able to access high quality advice, information and services from an alternative source. This quality service is also of vital importance for those people who wish to fund their own services or who have a personal budget.
We work in partnership with our ICES Commissioners and Service Users to support the development of a variety of services in the local areas to increase the choice of options for the provision of community equipment and other services such as continence management, minor adaptations, rental of Daily Living equipment, Telecare, Wheelchair rental and sales and servicing / maintenance of equipment.
This has included working with the private and voluntary sector and developing a Trusted Assessor service to support self assessment, provide assessments or to give advice and information.
In addition, to support the Personalisation agenda, we have introduced Enable Me® Centres – offering Assessment, Information, Demonstration, Home Adaptations, Rental & Retail Solutions at our Service Centres. The Enable Me® Centres can include all or a mix of the following:
• Demonstration & Assessment Area - Featuring a range of equipment for demonstration and assessment purposes
