The alert provides both a read out of water temperature, using an attached measuring prong, with an alert should the range be outside that set by the user, whether the water is too hot or cold. When the water touches the two metallic prongs, located on the bottom of the main unit, audible beeps will sound informing the user that the water is at the desired level. The temperature can be manually set between the temperature ranges of -50˚C to 120˚C (-58˚F to 248˚F). The small digital LCD display, with digits measuring 70mm (2¾") in height shows the water temperature, time and also has a built in countdown timer.
