Flavin’s fi nancial services company, Zing, gives people access to quality mortgage advice at a time and place that best suits them. Paul explains his journey with ActionCOACH, which led him to win Best Overall Company at the 2016 Business Excellence Awards. “In 2011, I agreed to a free business health check and met with my ActionCOACH, whose fi rst question was: ‘Is business living up to expectations?’ My reply was: ‘I didn’t expect a lot and that’s what it’s living up to.’ This is when I realised, unless something changed, Zing would be a mediocre group of mortgage advisers constantly scratching around for leads. That’s when I decided to try ActionCOACH. “I attended GrowthCLUB, the 90-day planning workshops, and I had weekly one-to-one meetings with my mortgage advisers. “With only a small addition to adviser numbers, our revenues have exploded. In 2012, revenue was £219,163. We implemented changes and with the full force of the ActionCOACH mentoring programme behind us, it began to impact massively on our performance. We achieved a staggering £906,661 in revenue in 2015 – a business growth of 314 per

Paul continued: “We attended the ActionCOACH Business Excellence Forum and Awards in March and had sent in an entry earlier in the year, thinking this would be a great way to get recognition for our progress. I was astounded to fi nd out that we had won Best Overall Company and were also fi nalists in the Best Service- Based Business and Fastest Growing Business categories. “The award came as a complete shock. Given the company we were in, I was proud to have been shortlisted in two categories, but to win the evening’s top award just blew me away. Working with Lucas has made a real difference to the way we approach business.
