Building on the success of the e-cigarette industry, Vapestore is rolling out its franchise programme
INVESTMENT LEVEL: FROM £50,000
What support did you receive from Vapestore? The support I received was extremely comprehensive. There is a team in place to nurture you from the beginning. This included helping with store location and fi t-out, recruitment, training, and product range selection. The Vapestore team couldn’t have done any more for us.
Did the training leave you feeling confi dent and ready to get started? I fi rmly believe that training is essential for all staff and this was provided by Vapestore in the weeks running up to my store launch. The product knowledge it provided has been invaluable, and, by opening day, we were extremely confi dent with all aspects of the Vapestore business and product range. This was refl ected in the opening weekend sales, which exceeded our expectations.
T
he e-cigarette has rapidly risen to prominence as the most popular smoking cessation method, with Public Health England claiming vaping
to be around 95 per cent less harmful than smoking. With the arrival of sub- ohm vaping, a more advanced version, there are now two distinct markets within the industry and both are growing exponentially.
Following the success of its fi rst
storefront in Guildford, which achieved a turnover of £727,000 in its fi rst year, vaping manufacturer and online retailer Vapouriz launched Vapestore with fi ve high street storefronts located across the UK. Simon of Vapestore Horsham discusses why he became its fi rst franchisee.
What attracted you to franchising with Vapestore? I already run my own business but had the desire to set up something new this year that I could run in parallel. Franchising was recommended to me after researching industries that were experiencing huge growth, and I came across Vapestore. Vapestore stocks all of the major vaping
What attracted you to the vaping industry?
I used to be a smoker and had tried so many times to give up unsuccessfully. Nothing worked for me – patches, gum or willpower! Then I discovered the Vapouriz electronic cigarette; it’s a product that feels like a cigarette when inhaling, it’s healthier, it smells better, and, more importantly, it’s cheaper!
When I started to research the industry
in more detail, I discovered that it has grown exponentially in recent years and is expected to be worth $32billion (£24billion) by 2021. A recent study showed that there are now more than two and a half million UK adults using electronic cigarettes.
brands and accessories, including the market-leading Vapouriz e-cigarette, and it has a number of stores in locations around the south east of the UK. Having visited one of its stores, I saw how different it was to other e-cigarette stores – clean, modern and inviting. Once I made contact with the dedicated team, I was instantly struck by their professionalism and knowledge, and I knew then that a Vapestore franchise was right for me.
Will this franchise help you to achieve your personal and professional goals? Vapestore has already enabled me to achieve a few of the personal and professional goals that I had set out at the beginning of this year: not reverting to smoking; launching a new business that demonstrates success from day one; learning about the vaping industry; and meeting new and likeminded people. I’m also exploring opening new Vapestores, with the intention to launch another by the end of 2016.
What do you enjoy most about your business?
It would have to be seeing someone who smokes 40 a day becoming a new client and making the transition. It’s very rewarding, especially as I have been that person and swear by it now.
