This year saw Home Instead become the only homecare provider to hold six CQC outstanding ratings. The fi rst outstanding for the brand was received by its West Lancashire and Chorley franchise in January 2015, followed in 2016 by Wimbledon and Kingston, Durham, Exeter and East Devon, and East Nottinghamshire and Melton Mowbray, with the latest awarded to the brand’s Rugby franchise this August.

The CQC’s Ofsted-style inspection system rates care providers across fi ve areas: safety, eff ectiveness, care, responsiveness and leadership – with outstanding the highest rating possible.

Sector-leading support Home Instead has a four-to-one ratio of sector-leading experts to franchisees at its national offi ce, one of the best ratios in the franchise industry. Expert counsel covers business planning, training and development, care quality and standards, IT, fi nance, legal, and marketing. The national offi ce is also home to the head of quality support, Keith Lowe (a former CQC senior area manager), and head of caregiver experience, Sue George – a critical portfolio given the caregivers’ role at the heart of the brand’s relationship- led model.


It is also home to the head of business performance, Katie Furey, who, before taking the position, had supported more than 40 franchisees through diff erent stages of their business life cycle.
