Reflections of the Year 6 Outdoor Pursuits Week 335

Imaan Kotadia Hallfield School is great as you have so many trips and get to do things that you have never tried before. It’s a great experience. Outdoor Pursuits was incredible I had never been so cold and wet in my clothes before. Gorge walking was an amazing experience, it’s something that I’d love to do again. In the evenings there was a chance to be with your friends that you weren’t with during the day and catch up on what had happened. Even after a long day we still could not get to sleep.

Phoebe Georgevic Outdoor Pursuits – In Year 6 we went to Wales. Because I had such a big year group, we had to split the week in 2 halves. Group 1 went Sunday- Wednesday and group 2 went Wednesday - Saturday. Here are some of the activities we did: raft building, rock climbing, gorge walking, kayaking, initiative tasks, bush craft, beach and orienteering. My favourite by far was the gorge walk. It was AMAZING!!!

Georgina Holyoak The whole of Year 6 went to Outdoor Pursuits in Wales but because are year group is quite a large group we were split into two, group one went Sunday after spring half term till Wednesday and group two went Wednesday till Saturday but both groups did the same activities. The activities we did were: rock climbing, kayaking, gorge walking, inactive tasks, raft building, orienteering and in the afternoon before dinner we had ages to do whatever we wanted. We could go anywhere we wanted as long as we were still on the land that the ranch owned. This trip was great fun. We all had a room with our friends. The rock

climbing wall was about 60ft high and it was also high up in the mountain so it was a great view. I was in group one that was the first group to get to the top. On the last day we all went to the beach.

Saroop Nandra Outdoor pursuits were great. When we sat in the coach we felt very excited. We were all wondering what the Ranch was going to look like. When we stopped near the lake to have lunch the girls had a sing-off with the boys. Unsurprisingly the boys won. When we got there we loved the rooms. The best room was the games room where there was table tennis and a pool table. Our room was amazing but was a little small. In my room I had immense fun with my friends, Cameron Hundle, Aaron Bahia and Sam Saffarian. The activity I loved the most was gorge walking. At first I thought this was just walking on grass up hills but it was way more than that! You jump in freezing cold water and swim under a waterfall where you can’t breathe because of the massive current, but you feel very proud of yourself when you come out.
