Satips National Schools' Handwriting Competition 2010 7
Three children were delighted when the winners of the National Handwriting Competition were revealed recently.
The competition run by Satips, ended earlier this year on 5th May. Rachel Velangi age 5 was awarded first place closely followed by Tavleen Takhar age 4 in third place and Krish Kumer age 4 was Highly Commended.
How Does Your Garden Grow? 35 The children in Transition have been very busy! They planted marigold and sunflower seeds and nurtured and watered the little seedlings until they were ready to be transplanted into their garden.
Watching a huge sunflower emerge from a tiny little seed is always amazing and the children were delighted and a little awestruck to see their seedlings outgrow them!
The garden has been equipped using the Morrison’s voucher scheme that enabled them to buy watering cans, trowels, forks and of course – the seeds!
The children realised how important water is for the growth of the flowers and were very pleased when the Parents’ Association donated the money for a garden hose and a bird table so that their feathered friends could enjoy the garden as well.
