Making Faces 7 Reception pupils had a wonderful time at the Barber

Institute learning about

sculptures and the different ways that 3D art could be made – out of metal, stone and wood and casting metal in a mould. Then they had the opportunity to make a copy of their own faces in clay!

On Safari 3 The Children from Reception went on safari on the 18th June.

They drove round the park, inspected the new rhino enclosure, and tried to sort all the animals they saw into different family groups, reptiles, mammals, amphibians and fish. The bravest amongst them ventured into the twilight zone to see the bats!

Potential Princesses, do the

Pea Test at Warwick Castle! 7 Year 1 went to Warwick Castle as part of their studies of Medieval life.

Mr Watts, a student teacher at Hallfield, helped fire the Trebuchet by running around the base wheel like a hamster! They looked at weapons used by knights – huge swords and maces, suits of armour and armour worn by war horses! Whilst they were eating their lunch a huge white tailed eagle swooped down over their heads as part of the display of birds of prey. It obviously liked the look of their sandwiches! Everyone loved dressing up as princesses and knights and during a visit to the Princess tower some of them had the opportunity to see if they could feel the pea under the mattress like a real princess!
