YEAR-ROUND COLORADO


Colorado is hoping to build on a great winter season, which saw record snow fall, by ushering in some exciting new developments in 2014. Denver’s Union Station is undergoing a


massive restoration and re-development that will transform it into the center of the city from July, while the 1881 Beaux Arts station will become a transportation, dining, shopping and entertainment hub. Year-long 100th anniversary celebrations


for Rocky Mountain National Park start on September 4, with special activities and community events to commemorate the event. Between June and November, Denver Botanic


Gardens will present the Rocky Mountain Region’s first outdoor exhibition of artwork by celebrated American artist, Dale Chihul, whose elegant sculptures – ranging in size and style from small water floats to large vertical installations – will add bold colors and dramatic beauty to the Gardens’ 24-acre urban oasis. 2014 also marks the 50th Anniversary of the Beatles Concert at Red Rocks, while in June and July, ‘Oh Heck Yeah’ will transform the streets of Denver into an immersive street arcade. ORLANDO ATTRACTIONS Orlando has some exciting developments for 2014. Walt Disney World Resort will complete the final phase of New Fantasyland – the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom history – this year, with the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Coaster. Coming to Magic Kingdom this year is Disney


Festival of Fantasy Parade, an all-new daytime parade featuring characters and music from


memorable Disney films. Universal Orlando Resort is building on the popularity of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, by bringing to life experiences and places found in and around London in the Harry Potter books and films. Diagon Alley and ‘London’ will be located within Universal Studios Florida, which is adjacent to Universal’s Islands of Adventure, the current location for Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. SeaWorld Orlando launched its 50th


anniversary celebrations in March, with an 18-month campaign, dubbed ‘A Sea of Surprises’. I-Drive Indoor Kart Racing, a multi-level entertainment center including a half-mile (805-meter) track for the electric-powered go- karts, bowling lanes and an arcade, also opens this year. Stand E103
