DRM hosts three events

DRM Consortium By David Davies

The DRM Consortium will unveil the latest updates in DRM technology at three key events this week, starting today. The first event takes place at

TM

the Transradio stand (8.D30) today between 15:00 and 17:00. Focusing mainly on securing good coverage with DRM30 on long wave and medium wave, the session will address topics including power consumption, technical requirements for DRM broadcasting, automatic equalisation of DRM transmitters, and MPEG surround sound. Tomorrow, the Nautel stand (8.C61) will demonstrate DRM+, the operating mode for frequencies above 30MHz. Taking place between 15:00 and 17:00, the event will provide a quick regulatory update and an overview of DRM+ and DRM30 features, EPG, 5.1 surround sound and Journaline. The final event, scheduled for the Thomson booth (1.D11) between 15:00 and 17:00 on Monday, will provide another opportunity to find out even more about some additional features of the DRM family. This event will include the first transmission of Diveemo, the new DRM application whereby audio is accompanied by a small scale video signal. Digidia and RFMondial are among the other companies featuring DRM this week.
