NuVola leverages CodecSys power NuVola, a Private Cloud Transcoding Platform designed for powerful yet economical multi-media distribution, is being demonstrated by Broadcast International on the Fujitsu stand. Developed as the result of a strategic alliance, the solution combines NuVola, Fujitsu’s new line of private cloud-based appliances, with Broadcast International’s CodecSys, a multi-codec video compression software capability to deliver a private cloud strategy powered by what the company says is a flexible and scalable alternative to traditional hardware-based encoders. CodecSys’s multi-codec technology is claimed to cut bandwidth needs by up to 30% compared to traditional MPEG2 encoding technologies and to eliminate proprietary, hardware-based appliances from the video optimisation landscape. 1.F27
with Ideal Systems XenData recently entered into a partnership with Asia-based media systems integration company Ideal Systems, aimed at bringing its digital video archive systems to broadcasters in Southeast Asia. As part of the partnership, Ideal Systems will use XenData’s range of digital video archives from multi-petabyte servers that archive video files to RAID and robotic LTO tape libraries, to lower cost workstations that archive to LTO-5 tape drives.
