By David Davies WorldCast Systems
Ecreso is the transmitter specialist within the WorldCast Systems group and has announced the introduction of new preventative maintenance features and power levels for its FM transmitter line.
The range now includes 2kW and 3kW versions as well as offering an Advanced Metering Interface (AMI) and Expert Maintenance Reporting – support services that will be made available to customers as part of a partnership agreement. Expert Maintenance Reporting enables time-pressured broadcast engineers to keep on top of maintenance issues and ensure that preventative action is taken before any problems occur. This service sends regular reports on the status of key parameters such as temperature, current and voltage, as well as on the performance and lifespan of components such as the fan and power supply of the transmitter. With detailed logging and trend analysis, Expert Maintenance
Reporting can identify slow- burning problems and issue warnings well in advance to allow for corrective action to be taken. Meanwhile, with the new Advanced Metering Interface also launched on Ecreso transmitters, a broadcast engineer can consult a realtime
dashboard that provides an at-a- glance overview of the
transmitter performance. Detailed analysis of the RF Spectrum, MPX Spectrum, Audio Spectrum and Peak Meters are presented on screen simultaneously, but in a clear and easily accessible viewing panel. 8.B50

Bringing Ku-band MCPC DVBS-2 services to Latin America on the T12 satellite is the purpose of an announcement by SatLink Communications. In partnership with Canada-based satellite operator Telesat, the new service is expected to give international broadcasters the opportunity to distribute HD and SD content cost- effectively from Europe to the growing Latin
America Pay TV markets. SatLink is also
