Fujinon’s latest HD tele zoom lens, the XA77x9.5BESM, is designed for macro shots and close-ups during sports events and performances. The 77x9.5 lens uses Fujinon’s patented OS Tech image stabilisation, which uses sensors to detect the slightest vibration to correct the optical system, helping to maintain a stable image when shooting from an unstable platform or in windy conditions. It also has an
advanced diagnostic FIND (Focused Intelligent Network Diagnosis) system for preventative maintenance and troubleshooting. Another aid to long-term reliability is its fixed front element that reduces dust contamination and anti-fogging technology. Standard 16-bit optical encoding output provides high positioning accuracy in virtual environments. An advanced back focus system allows very close macro shots, while an optional controller enables the back focus to also provide enhanced production features. 11.C20
Has IBC come at a good time for the electronic media industry? Why?
It’s always a good time to have a show like IBC! Since this time last year, trends have emerged that were still unclear in 2011. Manufacturers lead these trends to some extent, and react to them as well. A show like IBC gives the industry a chance to take a snapshot and make better informed buying decisions.
What do you think are the key developments in, or threats to, your market sector at the current time?
The biggest development is in new levels of integration that allow broadcasters to unify the infrastructure for compliance recording and monitoring, verification and live viewing. These functions have until now
required separate cable infrastructures and separate means of viewing, but with a unified approach broadcasters can economise, simplify, and have a much easier system to work with.
Why should delegates visit your stand at IBC? We’re launching the industry’s first unified system – one that lets broadcasters bring together compliance recording, monitoring, verification and live viewing, all over a single cable infrastructure and using the same intuitive interface. A trend that remains the same year to year is the trend towards cost- effectiveness and efficiency, and our new system is a big advance in both respects. 8C97

requirements for broadcast independence and sustainability, including the provision of satellite capacity and the development of orbital positions and ground services to support future expansion opportunities in new markets. 4.B74
