Gefen By Carolyn Giardina
Gefen is demonstrating how broadcasters and post production professionals can customise their system integration with its latest modular matrix systems. Available in 8x8, 16x16 and 32x32 enclosures, the GefenPRO Modular Matrixes allow a mix of DVI, DisplayPort 3GSDI and HDMI inputs and outputs in 8x increments with optional extension capability. An 8x8 Modular Matrix could have eight DVI inputs and eight CAT-5 outputs, for example. A 16x16 Modular Matrix could have eight DVI inputs and eight DisplayPort inputs with 16 DVI outputs. On all 8x8, 16x16 and 32x32 Modular Matrixes, Gefen offers the ability to add extension to both input and output sides using CAT-5 or fibre optic cable for both
short and long-range signal extension. All eight extension outputs include built-in sender-type modules to be combined with small receivers at the extended display location.
Each matrix switches HD
resolutions, and all come with hot-swappable, dual redundant power supplies. Matrix switching is through various control options, including front panel buttons, RS-232, IP and IR remote. 7.B30

MSP family enables new revenues
Arris By Ian McMurray
Described as a high availability, multi- services platform with multi-level redundancy, which is critical to supporting the ultimate ‘always on’ application – video – the Arris MSP product family is
designed to enable new service revenues from a wide range of video applications.
The high density
platform conserves rack space, reduces power consumption and number of GigE ports, and overall is said to make operation and management easier with a single chassis versus many independent pizza boxes. Two chassis sizes – the MSP1200 with five and the MSP2800 with 12 processing modules respectively – provide flexibility in meeting current service and space needs with an easy-to-implement growth path. 1.D41
