Harris is now shipping the IP Link 100, the latest module in its long line of Intraplex audio over IP products. This uses a new low-cost, high- performance codec to help users transmit programme audio affordably and reliably. The new device is aimed at multiple applications, including studio to transmitter, studio to studio and remote to studio. It includes a number of innovations to improve signal reliability including dynamic stream splicing for redundant transmission over the same or separate networks.


It also incorporates multi- coding, which Harris claims is an industry first. By


simultaneously encapsulating the signal in uncompressed and compressed formats the IP Link 100 allows a lower bitrate backup circuit to take over should the premium circuit fail. “The reliability of sending programme audio over IP
