Governance
Minister: The Honourable Gerry Brownlee, Canterbury Earthquake Recovery. The Minister is assisted by officials at the Ministry of Economic Development and Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) to deliver the Christchurch Stadium as part of the city’s recovery and rebuild.
Christchurch Stadium Trust: A charitable trust recently established to construct and operate Christchurch Stadium on an on-going basis.
Trustees: The current trustees for the construction phase are:
■ Sir John Hansen — Retired High Court judge, Convenor of the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Review Panel and Chairman of Dunedin venues which operates Forsyth Barr Stadium
■ Michael Aitken (Christchurch City Council) — General Manager of Community Services at

Christchurch City Council, with responsibility for the city’s other sports and recreation facilities
■ Neville Harris (Ministry of Economic Development) — represented the government’s interests during the redevelopment of Eden Park stadium for the Rugby World Cup
■ Jim Anderton — Former Deputy Prime Minister, Cabinet Minister, and long-time MP for the Christchurch electorate of Wigram
The establishment trustees are overseeing the commissioning of the stadium, leading up to the handover of the venue to more permanent trustees when it becomes fully operational.
Joe Flynn has been appointed Acting Chief Executive of Christchurch Stadium during the construction phase and reports directly to the Trust.
