Catering has clinched a plethora of contract wins and contract renewals in the first six months of 2012, thanks to its high quality products and marketing expertise.

the Royal Yacht Britannia and operating Digby Trout res- taurants at a number of premier heritage sites including the Tower of London, Edinburgh Castle, the Science Museum, and the National Museum of Wales during his six-year tenure at Elior, Elliott brought a wealth of exper- tise in the retail and heritage sectors. Hallmark of Excellence A radical re-structure of The Lindley Group’s business was implemented in Spring 2011 — just six months after Elliott joined the business — which enabled both areas of the business to flourish simultaneously. The Lindley Stadia and Lindley Dining divisions, which had respectively managed the public concourse and corporate hospitality stadia catering services, were merged into a highly focused single unit operating under the name, Lindley Venue Catering. The clear remit of this unit was to expand the core stadia business by providing a holistic approach to matchday catering and non- matchday event management. A new division, Lindley Heritage, was also created to


concentrate on establishing the Lindley name into new areas, and carving out a reputation for providing a bespoke, high quality service for heritage sites, arts & lei- sure venues, and other prestige hospitality sectors. Both business sectors are united under The Lindley


Group umbrella and share the company’s strapline “The Hallmark of Catering Excellence”, which was introduced at the time of the re-structure to communicate clearly the company’s stance on offering the very highest stand- ards in food and service.

of high profile arts and leisure industry contracts. Just weeks after the formation of Lindley Heritage, the new division had clinched its first contract, a GB£1.8m five- year deal to manage all of the catering services and facil- ities at The Hepworth Wakefield, Yorkshire’s prestigious new GB£35m art gallery, which opened its doors to the public in May 2011. A few months later, Lindley Heritage, which was three


years into a five-year contract with The Malvern Theatres, was awarded a GB£4m five-year contract extension to manage all aspects of catering and hospitality at the complex until 2018. In Spring ’12, Lindley Heritage added a GB£4m seven-


year catering and hospitality contract with the Theatre Royal Bath — one of Britain’s most prestigious regional theatres — to its portfolio; and it celebrated the first anniversary of its launch by picking up a six-year GB£2.4m contract to provide catering services for the public and staff at one of the UK’s biggest new visitor attractions. Revenue from non-sporting venues now makes up a


fifth of The Lindley Group’s turnover, but the notable point is that the growth in new sectors has been achieved alongside adding multi-million pounds worth of revenue during the past year to its core stadia business.


Soccer & Cricket Stadia Contract Wins In 2011, Lindley Venue Catering embarked on a GB£21.3m seven-year joint catering and hospitality ven- ture with Gillingham FC, and two other major contract wins included a GB£10.3 million five-year agreement with The Galpharm Stadium complex — home to Hud- dersfield Town FC and the Huddersfield Giants Rugby League Club — and an GB£8.2m five-year catering deal with Sheffield Wednesday FC. And the pace of bringing in new sports stadia busi-


ness, along with the extension of existing contracts, real- ly moved into top gear during the first half of 2012, with a plethora of contract wins. Lindley Venue Catering has been appointed by Rotherham FC to develop its conference and events➲
