uOAK RIDGE, TN, Lodge held a Drug Free Safe Zone Concert, which was attended by about 50 young people aged 2 to 18, and treated attendees to musical entertainment, food, and face painting. North Penn, PA, Lodge members participated in the 15th annual Lansdale Bike Night community event and gave each of 200 children and parents in attendance a drug aware- ness bag containing a coloring book, crayons, two pencils, a ruler, a bookmark, and a red ribbon.


Athens, TN, Lodge members, along with the McMinn Anti-Drug Coalition Aiding Teens (MADCAT) and local law enforcement agencies, took part in the National Take Back Day event and collected more than 90 pounds of prescription drugs at two sites.


Chisholm Trail, TX, Lodge members gave a drug awareness bookmark to each of more than 1,100 third-grade students as part of a dictionary distribution program.


Two Rivers, WI, Lodge members staffed a table at the Community Care Day health information event and gave drug awareness materials to about 200 children at the event. ■

u WINCHESTER, VA, Lodge, with the help of members of the Shenandoah Valley Young Marines, hosted a site for the National Take Back Day event and collected nearly 200 pounds of unused prescription drugs. Lodge members and Young Marines also gave hundreds of red ribbons and drug awareness pamphlets to people who participated in the program. In other news, lodge members, accompanied by the Shenandoah Valley Young Marines, attended the 14th annual Shenandoah Valley Hot Air Balloon and Music Festival and distributed 150 drug awareness packages, each containing a red ribbon, a bracelet, and a lollipop, to spectators at the event. Lodge members and the Young Marines also participated in a ceremony kicking off Red Ribbon Week at the Pentagon. The Young Marines provided color guard duty, observed a demonstration by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office’s K-9 unit, and handed out about 40 drug awareness red ribbons to spectators.
