Lady Lake, FL, Lodge held its annual Service Award Luncheon at a local restaurant, where lodge members recognized Lady Lake Police Officer Shane Barrett as their Police Officer of the Year and Villages Public Safety Department Firefighter Kevin Cunliffe as their Firefighter/ Paramedic of the Year and gave each of them a plaque. Largo, FL, Lodge donated $10,000 to the Harry-Anna Trust Fund, which funds the two state major projects, the Florida Elks Youth Camp and Florida Elks Children’s Therapy Services, to furnish two cabins at the camp. The lodge also donated $10,000 to the Elks National Foundation.


Palm Coast, FL, Lodge donated $550 to the Harry-Anna Trust Fund, which supports the two state major projects, the Florida Elks Youth Camp and Florida Elks Children’s Therapy Services, to help pay for the construc- tion of a cabin at the Florida Elks Youth Camp. The lodge also donated


$150 to the Flagler County Education Foundation; gave $150 to the Arc of Flagler County, which advocates for the needs of children and adults with special needs; donated three boxes of food to a local food bank; gave 67 books to the Flagler Volunteer Services I Can Read Program, which serves children in kindergarten through third grade; donated more than 600 cell phones to Cell Phones for Soldiers, which converts each donated phone into a one-hour phone card that is sent to a US serviceman or woman serving overseas; and collected 1,300 pounds of food for Second Chance Rescue, a no-kill animal shelter.


Port St. Lucie, FL, Lodge members honored US Army SGT Jeffrey Pilgrim before their regular lodge meeting. Sergeant Pilgrim had just returned from deployment in Afghanistan.


South Miami/Coral Gables, FL, Lodge, with the help of scouts from Boy Scout Troop No. 457; Marines from US Marine Detachment 4, 4th Tank Battalion; and the local fire department, held an Americanism Day, which more than 200 people


Lehigh Acres, FL, Lodge paid for eight children to attend the Florida Elks Youth Camp, one of the state major projects, for a week.
