Illinois Elks Association donated more than 220 pounds of aluminum pull tabs to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, which provides housing to family members of hospi- talized children.
Muncie, IN, Lodge donated $2,000 to Cancer Services of Delaware County for cancer patient services ($1,000) and breast cancer screening ($1,000).
Ellsworth, ME, Lodge donated nearly $3,500 to the Maine Children’s Cancer Program, a state major project.

Maryland, Delaware and District of Columbia Elks Association lodges competed in a Horseshoe Tournament fund-raiser at the Kent Island Lodge and raised $500, which was donated to the Mark George Memorial Scholar- ship Fund at Anne Arundel Commu- nity College, which was the charity chosen by the winning team from the Broadneck Lodge.
Prince Georges County, MD, Lodge donated a motorized wheelchair worth about $3,000 to the Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Institute, which helps people with disabilities live productive lives. The institute, in turn, gave the chair to a young man who works at the Armed Forces Retirement Home.
Salisbury, MD, Lodge held a US Marine Corps Toys for Tots Golf Tourna- ment in which 80 golfers competed. Each golfer donated a toy to the US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program as the price of his or her admission to the tournament.
In other news, the lodge held its annual Breakfast for about 30 members of the town’s volunteer fire department. The lodge also donated $500 to the department. In more news, lodge members distributed
dictionaries to more than 140 third-grade students at four elementary schools.
