Escondido, CA, Lodge members distributed English-Spanish dictionar- ies to more than 120 third-grade students at L. R. Green School.


Gardena, CA, Lodge donated $14,400 to the Gardena Senior Citizens Day Care Center to pay one year’s rent for the center. The lodge also donated $8,000 to lodge-sponsored Girl Scout Troop No. 3135.


In other news, lodge members gave dictionaries to 670 third-grade students in local elementary schools.


Indio, CA, Lodge donated $700 to Shelter from the Storm, which provides shelter, clothing, food, and other services to women and children who are victims of domestic violence.


Desert Hot Springs, CA, Lodge members, with the help of a $500 ENF Gratitude Grant, gave dictionaries to 540 third-grade students in local elementary schools. Lake Elsinore/Wildomar, CA, Lodge members held a Dedication and Grand Opening Dinner and formally dedi- cated a new lodge building, which was built to replace one destroyed by fire in late 2007.


Elk Grove, CA, Lodge held its annual Soccer Shoot, in which more than 240 children ages 13 and younger competed. Lodge members gave a medal, a drug awareness soccer ball, and a T-shirt to the top boy and girl in each of four age brackets and treated the winners and their families to dinner.
