In other news, the lodge donated 42 hand-knitted caps for newborn babies to the Baxter Regional Medical Center and 66 hand-knitted caps for children and adults to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital. The lodge also held an Auction and Dinner fund-raiser and raised more than $1,400 for its Christmas Basket Program.
Atascadero, CA, and Paso Robles, CA, Lodges held a Scout Recognition Dinner at the Atascadero Lodge and treated nearly 100 scouts, their scout leaders, and their family members to dinner. Lodge members presented a certificate and a US flag to each of 20 new Eagle Scouts, 4 Girl Scouts who had earned the Gold Award, and 13 Girl Scouts who had earned the Silver Award.
Jonesboro, AR, Lodge hosted the Special Olympics Arkansas Area 6 Awards Banquet and treated 160 Special Olympians and their parents to dinner, an awards presentation, skits, and dancing. Bay District, CA, lodges held their annual Soccer Shoot competition, in which 16 young contestants competed, and gave trophies to the four first- place winners.
Central District, CA, lodges held their annual Soccer Shoot at the Los Banos Lodge. District lodge members gave each of the 18 contestants who participated in the event a soccer ball and gave trophies to the first-place winners and ribbons to the second- and third-place winners.
Coalinga, CA, Lodge members distributed dictionaries to 260 third- grade students at Nell Dawson Elementary School.
