Shoot Multiple Photos


To minimize the risk of losing a precious moment forever, take more than one photo of the same subject or scene. If you are using a digital camera, you can easily select the best shots to be printed. If you’re shooting with film, take lots of pictures too.


You can ask the processor to initially develop only the film itself (rather than prints), and then you can choose the best photos from the negatives and have only those photos printed. So in order to make sure that you capture the moment: shoot, shoot, and shoot some more!

Shoot from Different Angles


It is a good idea to change the angle from which you take a photo, not just to keep the background clear but because a subject often looks surpris- ingly different when you look at it from another angle. Don’t stay in one spot, but move around: sit, squat, stand on a chair, or lie on the ground. Just changing the camera angle can result in a great photo instead of just a good one.


Pay Attention to Light


The faces of the people in this photo are in shadow because they are positioned with their backs to an external light source. In such situations, using the camera flash will light subjects from the front and result in a much better photo.

Nothing ruins photos more quickly than poor lighting. When shooting outdoors, make sure that the sun is not behind your subject, as this increases the possibility of the subject being in shadow. When shooting indoors, the same problem can occur when a subject is posed against an
