Waterbury, CT, Lodge held its eighth annual Police and Firefighter of the Year Awards Dinner, which more than 180 people attended, and honored five outstanding public servants. Pictured are honorees (from left) Waterbury Police Officer of the Year Steven Brownell, Watertown Police Officer of the Year Daniel Rinaldi, Waterbury Fire Department secretary Mari Kenney (who received a Special Recognition Award for her 34 years of service), Waterbury Firefighter of the Year Lt. Robert Wall, and Wolcott Firefighter of the Year Deputy Chief Steven Valenti.


Aripeka, FL, Lodge members pledged their support to US Army PV2 William Ami (pictured) in a ceremony at the lodge. Lodge members later sent two care packages, worth about $40 each, to Private Ami while he was deployed to Afghanistan. The packages contained toiletries and snacks. In related news, the lodge set aside $300 to pay for postage to send additional care packages to US troops serving overseas. In other news, the lodge donated $250 to sponsor two women in a Relay for Life fund- raiser for the American Cancer Society.


Brandon, FL, Lodge members distrib- uted 325 dictionaries to third-grade students at Nativity Catholic School, Alafia Elementary School, and Nelson Elementary School.


Kissimmee, FL, Lodge members distributed dictionaries to more than 120 third-grade students at Central Avenue and Reedy Creek Elementary Schools. In other news, the lodge held its annual Soccer Shoot, in which 92 children ages 13 and


younger participated, and gave trophies to the first- and second-place boys and girls in each of four age-groups.

Fort Pierce, FL, Lodge donated a $1,000 ENF Promise Grant to the Avenue D Boys Choir, a choir for at- risk adolescent boys, and treated 50 members of the choir and 20 parents of choir members to dinner following a concert at the lodge. In other news, lodge members sent


eight care packages, including a group photo of the lodge members, to US troops serving in Afghanistan.
