64 AERO5 UNLEASHES POWER IN 5G

Vislink Technologies BY DAVID FOX

Aero5 is claimed by Vislink to be “the world’s fastest and most powerful 5G bonded cellular airborne video transmitter”. It delivers low-latency UHD video from helicopters, fi xed-wing aircraft and UAVs and supports up to eight bonded 5G modems, with optional Starlink and other LEO satellite integration for uninterrupted transmission – even in rural or infrastructure-poor areas. It also supports Ethernet and WiFi.

Integrated with Vislink’s secure, cloud-native LinkMatrix platform, users can monitor, control and

route live feeds through a single web interface. Features include real-time stream switching, remote encoder confi guration, AES encryption and full cloud compatibility. Aero5 also supports hybrid deployments with Vislink’s COFDM-based AeroLink transmitter, enabling both line- of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight operations.

The compact H.265/H.264 4K encoder can be used with one or two cameras and comes with two HD-SDI (3G) inputs, although a UHD-SDI (12G) input is an option. It supports NDI, RTMP, RTSP and MPEG-TS IP outputs. It also has 128GB local storage for record and play-it-forward use. 10.C27

KNOWLED LIGHTS HAVE THE BRIGHT STUFF

In the Know: The M300R LED fi xture is an IP65-rated full-colour COB light

Godox Photo Equipment

BY DAVID FOX

Godox has expanded its KnowLED range of single-point lights with bright new 300W, 2650W and 4300W fi xtures. The 3.6kg M300R full-colour COB light outputs 101,000 lux at 1m (5600K) when using the included refl ector, with a colour temperature range from 1800K to 10,000K. It offers IP65-rated weather resistance and has AC and V-mount battery power options. For control, it has on-board, CRMX, DMX, KnowLED app and Ethernet connectivity. It has a Bowens Mount for accessories. The larger MG2400R boasts

bright, punchy white and vivid, saturated colour, and can deliver 288,900 lux at 1m (5600K) with its refl ector. The IP65 fi xture uses Godox’s own G-mount for high- power fi xtures, as it supports larger, advanced light modifi ers. The MG6K bi-colour

(2800K-10000K) unit is claimed to be “brighter than a 6kW HMI” and lights up instantly, with no pre-heating required, and is “ideal for long-distance lighting setups”. When paired with the BeamLight Max 60/90, the G-mount-equipped MG6K delivers a 5° beam of parallel light with great optical effi ciency. Its advanced air-cooling system achieves “a 75% improvement in heat dissipation effi ciency” for prolonged high-load operation. 12.H38

GLOBAL GATEWAY TO LIVE VIDEO GlobalM

BY KIRSTY HAZLEWOOD

The fully software-defi ned video network (SDVN) from GlobalM is engineered for transporting live IP video over any network. This includes the public internet, 5G, LEO satellite, fi bre and cloud, with the low latency and high resilience required in professional production environments.

The cloud-native platform runs on AWS, Oracle, Google Cloud,

OpenStack, or Alibaba. For edge deployments, GlobalM offers appliance hardware in its GMX1 platform, supporting GPU-based encoding with Nvidia technology. Real-time transport protocols include SRT, RIST, RTMP, HLS, MPEG-DASH and RTP.

New for IBC is GlobalM Device Control (GMDC), a control API that enables port-to-port codec orchestration between the GlobalM platform and edge hardware.

The live demo runs on the Matrox Monarch Edge, showing

how operators can remotely initiate, confi gure and monitor encoding and decoding sessions directly from the GlobalM UI. This integration gives full end- to-end control over contribution and distribution workfl ows from a single interface.

Paul Calleja, CEO, GlobalM, said: “IBC is where we show what we’ve built and how it’s being used right now. This isn’t a future roadmap. It’s proven, in production and solving real- world problems.” 3.C36

Calleja: ‘It’s proven, in

production and solving real-world problems’
