27 IBC TALENT PROGRAMME EXPLORES MENTORS, EDUCATION AND ALLYSHIP


Back for its second year, the IBC Talent Programme is taking place on the Hackfest Stage in Hall 14 today, continuing its mission to empower the next generation of professionals shaping media, entertainment and technology. Supported by partners including Rise, Rise Academy, Host Broadcasting Services, EBU, Gals’n’Gear, Media Entertainment Talent Manifesto, and more, the programme is focusing on areas such as professional development, mentorship and inclusive leadership. Highlights include a panel discussion around the work being done within schools and further education to bridge the relationship with the media industry. It features Chaitanya Chinchlikar, VP & Business Head, CTO & Head of Emerging Media, Whistling Woods International; Sally Griffi th, Research & Development Producer, Media Cymru; and Wolfgang Ruppel, Professor, RheinMain University of


Applied Sciences. In addition, Rise, Women in Immersive Technology, Gals’n’Gear and Women in Streaming Media are providing insight and updates on their mentorship, education and allyship programmes and the successes they’ve seen to date. Attendees will also hear from the industry talent – mentors and mentees – who are benefi tting from these game-changing initiatives.


Later in the day, Ian Nock, Managing Consultant, Fairmile West Consulting; Morag McIntosh, Solution Lead for Live Production Control, BBC; Sabina Bunger, Professional and Personal Coach, Coaching with Sabina; and Sam Fray, Founder & Director, Black People in Sports Broadcasting, will explore the work being done to expand the diversity of talent in the media space and to support professionals in under- represented areas, including mid-late career groups, ethnic

minorities, people with disabilities and neurodivergent talent. The challenges the media community faces in holding on to the talent it attracts will also be discussed. The programme wraps up with a speed networking session at 17:00, providing an opportunity


to connect directly with leading organisations and explore new opportunities in the sector.


The IBC Talent Programme runs today from 10:50-17:30 on the Hackfest Stage in Hall 14. It is free to attend.


AI TOPS THE SHOWCASE THEATRE AGENDA


Four days of thought-provoking content begins today on the Showcase Theatre stage in Hall 8. First up, Evergent is discussing what’s needed to achieve successful business model transformation for direct-to- consumer video services, including a look at how AI is helping to solve problems in this space.


AI is also on the agenda later in the day when Lightricks will host a session entitled ‘Rethinking Creative Workfl ows with Generative AI’, led by Shani Mandel-Laufer, VP Strategy & Business Development at the company.


She will explore how AI-native tools are reshaping creative workfl ows by reimagining how they work at scale. There will also be a behind-the-scenes look at Lightricks’ development of LTX


Studio, which enables AI-powered visual storytelling from concept to delivery in one platform, and the open-source multimodal model LTXV, which supports real-time, editable storytelling and high- fi delity visual rendering. Also today, Evan Shapiro, Media Cartographer, and Theresa Wise, Chief Executive, Royal Television Society, will chat about what the fast-shifting landscape holds for the TV and streaming community, as well as for audiences. Google, Tejas Networks, Globant, Gracenote, Microsoft, Mediakind, GSMA, Diversifi ed, Amdocs and more will all be hosting sessions on the Showcase Theatre throughout this year’s show.
