TALKING TRENDS, CHALLENGES AND TECHNOLOGY ON THE CONTENT EVERYWHERE STAGES
The macro trends in Content Everywhere worldwide, the opportunities and challenges being faced across the industry, and the technologies enabling success will all be discussed across the two Content Everywhere stages here at IBC2025.
Sessions in Hall 4 (4.C20) today include a panel on navigating the operational and strategic challenges of updating to next- gen TV infrastructures. Cees Van Versendaal, COO, MwareTV; Gary Hamer, Chief Commercial Offi cer, SmartLabs; and Matthew Duhig, Co-founder and Managing Director, FX Digital, will be sharing their insights. Later in the day, ‘How Europe is Redefi ning Global Streaming’ will see Cédric Monnier, CEO,
Okast.TV; Jonas Engwall, CEO, Bedrock Streaming; and Tassilo Raesig, CEO, MainStreaming, explore how shared infrastructure, strategic
alignment and cross-market collaboration are unlocking the scale, stability and innovation required to compete globally. This session will also share the latest research from the European FAST4EU consortium on the state of FAST and AVOD in Europe.
In Hall 5, the topic of piracy and revenue protection will be discussed by João Tavares, Product Manager, Velocix; Olga Kornienko, COO & Co-founder, EZDRM; and Valentijn Siebrands, Streaming Solution Manager, Unifi ed Streaming. Expect conversation around advanced DRM, intelligent watermarking, high-frequency key rotation, unifi ed security strategies, C2PA, and the need for tight integration between security functions and video player technology.
AI will be in the spotlight during ‘The Future of Media Streaming: Ecosystems, AI and the new
Redefi ning global streaming with Jonas Engwall, CEO of Bedrock Streaming
content economy’ at 14:00. Here Ben Lupton, VP Strategic Solutions & Integrations, Brightcove; Fred Sun, General Manager of Tencent Cloud Europe, Tencent Cloud; and Jonathan Low, VP Channel Sales & Partnerships, Zixi, will be reviewing the trends driving the sector, including the rise of short-form video, AI-powered content engines, super apps and personalisation. They will also discuss the requirements for the agile, scalable and resilient online video platforms of the future.
In addition, a series of demos will take place across the two stages, including from
Camb.AI, Radix, Witbe and GeoComply.
Sessions on the Content Everywhere stages today run from 11:15-17:50 in Hall 4 and from 11:15-17:45 in Hall 5. They are free to attend.
PEAK TRANSFORMATION: DEEP DIVE INTO THE CHANGING INDUSTRY WITH THE OWNER AND PARTNER PROGRAMMES
A quintet of sessions kick off the 2025 Owner and Partner programme today, with topics including content security and gaming being explored. In addition to sessions from SCTE, the Owner Programme in Room E102 includes two IET-led discussions. The fi rst, ‘A Perfect Storm – From peak TV to peak transformation’, features a panel of global executives discussing how transformation continues to infl uence new decisions in both traditional broadcast and streaming, covering business models, production demands and delivery.
This is followed by ‘Citizen Communication in a Crisis as the World Order is Changing’, which will explore the history of emergency messaging, what the
situation is today and what the roadmap for future development looks like. ITV CTO Simon Farnsworth will be among the panellists.
In Room E105, Brian Epperson,
Director, Content Security, NBCUniversal; Jaclyn Knag, Vice President & Head of Global Content Security, Paramount Pictures; and Matt Andrews, Director, Global Content Protection, Netfl ix, will take part in ‘Raising the Shield: Strengthening content security in an evolving threat landscape’. Discussion will include the rollout of TPN’s next-gen Shield tiers, the push for continuous remediation, and how studios and service providers can work together to build a more resilient supply chain. Also in Room E105, ‘Press
“Play”: How gaming is rewriting the streaming script’ will consider how gaming and streaming are now closely linked, shaping each other’s growth. How mature market players can leverage gaming IPs to retain and grow audiences; the lessons streaming platforms can learn from game interactivity and
Unifi ed Streaming’s Ksenia Rabinovich will explore the convergence of gaming and streaming
immersion; and the future of transmedia storytelling and cross- platform monetisation will be discussed by panellists including Ksenia Rabinovich, PMM, Unifi ed Streaming.
