The JPEG XS SDK from Fraunhofer is now available for MPEG-TS, ST 2110 and IPMX. It provides development kits for CPUs (Intel, AMD, ARM) and GPUs (Nvidia), as well as containerised solutions including Holoscan for media support. The company’s JPEG- XS SDK is currently integrated in products from IHSE, Comprimato, Nvidia, Nablet, Mainconcept and Telestream. Using IP transport standards to achieve almost real-time performance, the JPEG-XS
codec is designed to enhance high-speed, high-performance video data transmission for both professional production and collaborative post workfl ows. The codec recently won a team
of researchers at Fraunhofer IIS the Joseph von Fraunhofer Prize 2025 for outstanding technology with its features to realise low- latency transmission over IP for production and contribution. The jury said that the Fraunhofer IIS team had “developed a pioneering standard for resource-effi cient real-time transmission of high-quality video data that has already been implemented in devices from various manufacturers”. 8.B80
