demand for new equipment has soared and although component shortages are now easing, we are still seeing some delays causing problems with the supply of various products within our industry.

In your opinion, what are the biggest challenges facing the media and entertainment industry?

The content production chain has continued to become more complex – while overall subscription and advertising revenues are being diluted. Broadcasters and production houses need to optimise their workfl ows and carry on doing more with less. Since the end of the pandemic restrictions

What do you think are the main drivers in your market sector? With the continuing progression towards IP, more of the budget that customers are spending is going towards commodity computing equipment as well as cloud subscriptions. Broadcast has more demanding requirements for this kit than most traditional IT environments, so there is still plenty of scope for custom hardware (add in cards for I/O and processing offl oad) and highly optimised software solutions.

Customers have continued post Covid with shared workfl ows, with many staff members working solely from home or sharing time between home and offi ce. This has led to the need for solutions

to manage these complex distributed workfl ows for both synchronising remote editing and unifying and managing distributed storage on premise, remote and in the cloud.

Which trends or themes do you expect to emerge during IBC2023?

The SMPTE 2110 standard is becoming a real focus for many as well as many more real-world deployments, it’s clear that the move to hybrid baseband/ IP and all-IP environments will continue to be a technology driver. Cloud, of course, is a serious focus and, although some areas of the market and other countries are unsure about moving to cloud, it is going to be a major player going forward whether we like it or not. Obviously traditional baseband solutions are still appropriate for specifi c projects so it’s unlikely SDI is going away any time soon. HD/UHD at HDR and HFR will continue to feature, as well as new developments in NDI, ML, OTT, AR and 5G mobile.

What are the main areas of focus for your company at IBC2023?

As a distributor representing multiple manufacturers exhibiting at the show, we will be assisting our partners with getting their message out to resellers and customers alike. The IBC Show has always been a great place to look for that next big thing and we have many new and exciting products to offer for cloud, IP, data movement, data analysis, signal conversion, video capture, data storage, archiving and much more.
