IMPULSE DECISION FOR ENTRY-LEVEL DSP

Calrec Audio BY KEVIN EMMOTT

Now available with a new entry-level DSP licence, Calrec Audio’s ImPulse1 IP audio processing and routing engine is making its IBC debut in Hall 8. Designed for small to medium single-mixer applications, the new DSP licence provides 128 input channels with no compromise on features or ST2110 capability. ImPulse1

provides DSP options ranging from 128 to 384 input channels and the same DSP features as the larger ImPulse core. The 1U unit provides power for single console scenarios and is available with an optional second core for redundancy; Calrec says it is purpose- designed for compact installation sites, such as outside broadcast and fl y pack applications, where space is at a premium. ImPulse1 works with Calrec’s Argo Q and Argo S control

surfaces, as well as Calrec Assist, the company’s browser-based GUI designed for remote, multi-operator and headless operation. Both the Argo Q and Argo S consoles are also on show. Argo is a fully modular mixing system

with interchangeable hardware panels to encourage the adaptation of surface hardware to meet changing requirements, including surface splits for sub mixing or mixing in other locations. 8.D60

The ImPulse1 DSP engine is compatible with Calrec’s fl agship Argo consoles

grow within the ‘Works with Avid On Demand’ SaaS cloud editing environment, providing additional content production workfl ow capabilities that can be deployed and scaled for maximum fl exibility.
