HXC-FZ90 PAVES PATHWAY TO 4K PRODUCTION Sony

Sony’s HXC-FZ90 system camera is designed to enable an easier 4K migration pathway for studio and event production companies. Norbert Paquet, Head of Live Production, Sony Europe, said: “As production formats diversify according to projects, we are seeing more companies looking for a fl exible way to switch at will between 4K, HD and HDR. They might still be producing most of their commissions in HD, but know they need to future-proof and want to be able to respond now to briefs with a 4K or HDR component.” The HXC-FZ90, which will ship later this year, will allow organisations to move to UHD, via 12G-SDI, as needed, with the
4K licence available on a weekly or monthly basis, or as a permanent feature.

The camera has a 2/3in 4K CMOS sensor with B4 mount, with Hybrid Log Gamma and S-Log3 support, including Sony’s SR Live workfl ow for HD HDR or 4K HDR. It offers simple integration with CNA-2 web RCP control for advanced monitoring and supports Aria functionality for automatic picture optimisation based on the lens characteristics for certain lenses. 13.A10, 13.D201
