EGT Interactive: developing our first in-house title
EGT Interactive’s Yordan Georgiev describes his pride in spearheading the developer's first original in-house title and explains how 20 Golden Coins is designed to tap into the genre of classic fruit games whilst retaining a next generation, modern feel.
We have eight classic symbols and two bonus symbols with a mystery nudge on the fifth reel. We have golden coins that appears on the first to fourth reel and a piggy bank that appears on the fifth reel. Te idea is for players to collect all the golden coins that appear on the first four reels to the piggy bank on the fifth reel.
Yordan Georgiev, Senior Product Manager, EGT Interactive
20 Golden Coins is a classic fruit slot with five reels and 20 fixed lines, featuring fancy ambient music and a modern vision. With our new game, we have tried to give players the feel of a classic fruit game whilst upgrading the slot with fancy features.
Te game's mystery nudge feature is something we created in order for players to have an additional opportunity to collect all the coins visualised on the screen. Te reel nudge is triggered randomly on the fifth reel when one or more coin symbols are present and there is no collect symbol on the screen.
How was the process of developing an original in-house title? How is creating your own design elements different from translating existing assets in land-based titles?
Tis was one of our strategic goals and I am really happy that we have achieved this important milestone. It was quite challenging to make a new game from scratch and it is more time consuming than the translation of existing assets from land-based.
One of the most important things that we have learned is to communicate a lot within the team in order to resolve issues which may arise.
Producing a game from scratch introduces a lot of factors we didn't discuss in detail when we began designing the slot. From a personal perspective it was a great and enjoyable experience and I believe the same can be said for all team members. Te process of producing a new game from scratch offers an opportunity to be creative for everybody involved.
Do you feel trepidation or excitement in producing a game without a proven track record in the land-based side? What have you learnt during the development of 20 Golden Coins for future in-house games?
It was a great opportunity for me and my team. We were all excited to kickstart a brand new project and we were all aware that it would be quite challenging. We knew that we needed to have extra patience, attention to detail, extensive communication. Of course - we have learned lessons. I am delighted that 20 Golden Coins is ready for release and we are all impatient to see the results. We are trying to provide players with a classic vision of the slot with fancy ambient music and the mystery nudge feature.
We are hoping this mixture will make the game likeable and played a lot. As Product Manager, I really hope the game will be liked by the market and players will win a lot of money.
