Te TruNarrative platform was designed with adaptability in mind. Changing risk levels and adding new data sources is done through the no code interface. For example, in the UK, if the Gambling Commission were to lower the cumulative deposit limit or require different documentation or extensive affordability checks. Te cost to our clients to implement these changes would likely be the lowest in the industry.

Whether its onboarding, transactions or behaviours – operators can create new decisioning processes within minutes on our system. Tis means operators can react to changing regulatory requirements.

How are you supporting operators with both on-boarding players and monitoring them once they are transacting & playing?

We offer a single customer view, bringing both internal and third-party data together into a single platform, combining insight across them for decisioning and risk scoring against the full picture. Compliance and player protection requirements are only going to increase in the future, my view is that it will become imperative for operators to utilise as much data as possible to better understand their customer.

We describe our solution as omnichannel meaning data from multiple brands, online and retail can be brought together.

How do you verify ID and monitor transactions?

We can verify identity through government, credit and consumer data: against information

from uploaded documents and match this against third party verification data. We offer a fast and efficient platform which can monitor every transaction, deposit and identify behavioural patterns in real time.

With a single customer view, operators can follow money as it goes in and out even if a customer has changed credit cards or device. We provide operators the opportunity to go above and beyond what regulators are asking for.

Is there an over-reliance on third-party specialists such as yourselves to parachute in and save the day?

We don’t think of ourselves as a third party, we are a technology partner for our clients. A gambling operator is a gambling operator, their specialism is running their operation, our specialism is verification and monitoring technology.

Historically, compliance and the associated systems have been considered a cost centre by operators, moving forward tighter regulatory requirements and the drive for efficiency means that technology like ours can be a competitive advantage. Legacy platforms can

make it hard for them to add in greater functionality when required. We help by offering operators the scope to tailor the solution to their current and future requirements.

Are regulators interested in the path to compliant operation, or just the outcome? Should they be?

Some regulators could do with spending more time with operators to understand what they are asking of them, but there is an education process on both sides. Ultimately, both regulators and operators want the same thing - a safe and regulated environment for players. I’ve heard the term affordability mentioned a lot lately, and I think this is where regulation will go in the years to come.

TruNarrative also works with financial services businesses offering loan products, where the lender has access to genuine affordability data from the customer, on which to make their decisions, this is known as insight lending.

I’d be interested to know what your readers think of this, I’m always open to discussions about player protection and operating responsibly.
