We are going live in Colorado in May, subject to licensing. Illinois and Michigan have recently passed legislation. We are excited about Eldorado’s acquisition of Caesars, as our deal with Eldorado provides us the right to operate retail and mobile sports books at all of their properties in the US including the Caesars properties.

Are you targeting a particular demographic?

We are not targeting one particular segment of the market. A lot of people are betting in the illegal market – we want to give these people a legal offering as well as folks who want to try to place a bet for the first time. We hope to attract a broad-based audience. Aside from the 20,000 people attending on a game day, we also are focused on people living and working in the neighbourhood.

Are you concerned a retail sportsbook will draw away fans as the game is played and negatively impact the match experience?

Although the sports book will be open during

games, you do not necessarily have to go into the sports book to bet. You will be able to stay in your seat and bet on our mobile app. Alternatively, you can stop into the sports book before the game, at half time or after the game. Generally, when east coast games come to an end, the west coast games are just getting started. Within the sports book, you will have access to watch all of the games from across the country.

Will we be seeing William Hill open new stores across the ten states you currently operate in, or potentially expand into other states?

We are always looking to expand and push our brand into new territories. We are going live in

Colorado in May, subject to licensing. Illinois and Michigan have recently passed legislation. We’ve signed a deal in Las Vegas to purchase the sports book assets of Cantor Gaming, subject to regulatory approval. We also have applied for a license with the DC Lottery where we hope to get up and running in 2020. I can’t predict a date but we’re looking forward to it when the time comes.

Betting on Sports America takes place on 28 – 30 April in New Jersey. What are your expectations for the event?

I attended Betting on Sports America last year and thought it was an excellent opportunity to get together with colleagues and partners in the industry. It looks like the event will draw a great crowd once again this year and I look forward to attending.
