We had a record four national finalists at The WOW! Awards 2016 gala ceremony. Rita Hubbard, Sarah Embleton, Dr Nick Ward and the colposcopy team at BNHH all travelled to London for the event.


A study on prosthetic joint infection led by our microbiology team was published in the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents.


The compassion, dedication and care shown by staff across Hampshire Hospitals was celebrated during the trust’s annual WOW! Awards Gala ceremony. Almost 300 staff attended a glittering ceremony at Holiday Inn Winchester, with the main award of the evening, The Chairman’s Award, shared by Nick Maich and Hazel Horsnell.

Characters from the pantomime Sleeping Beauty took time out of their busy schedule to pay a visit to the children’s ward at Basingstoke hospital. Silly Billy, played by Mark James, was among the characters who paid children a visit.


Six members of staff successfully completed a British Sign Language Level Two course. They are now available to provide assistance to patients who are deaf or hard of hearing.
