her hard work, com- mitment and involve- ment in local voluntary community groups. To celebrate her special birthday, Helen’s fam- ily organised a sur-
prise party for their Mam which was held on Saturday night last and, to say that Helen was surprised is not an exaggeration. Speak- ing with The East Cork
celebrations.
Journal Helen said that when she arrived in the door, saw the crowds and heard the shouts of Happy Birthday Helen “I almost got a heart attack”!
With more people ar-
riving by the minute, the celebrations went on long into the night for a lovely lady who is much admired by all.

Slum Children On tonight, Thursday 8 December at 8.30pm in Far- rell’s Pub, Summerfield, Ailbhe Griffin is holding a Table Quiz to help raise funds for The HOPE Foundation. Teams of four costs€40 and there will be great festive prizes. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, School Team and Monster Raffle. Ailbhe and three of her fellow students will be travel- ling to Calcutta, India in 2017.
