보통 식물원에 가는것은 그리 많이 신나는 일은 아닙니다. 하지만 뉴욕 Botanical Garden은 특별한 예외였습니다. 일단 그곳에


도착하면 수많은 나무와 꽃들이 방문객들을 반겨줍니다. 순수한 자연의 향기는 정말 신선하게 느껴집니다. 많은 사람들이 푸른 잔디위에서 가족 들과 점심을 즐기는 모습도 보이고, 어린이들이 언덕을 자유롭게 돌아다 니며 뛰노는 장면도 볼수있습니다. 정말 아름다운 장면들이지요. 식물원 입구에는 단순하지만 아름다운 건축물들이 있습니다. 아무리 오 래봐도 전혀 질리지가 않습니다. 여기 저기 널려져 있지 않아서 아주 깔 끔한 효과를 주고 있습니다. 제가 그 곳을 방문했던 날은 날씨가 좋아서 저에게는 무척 행운이었습니다. 그래서 정말 인상적이고 훌륭한 조각품 들도 많이 감상할수 있었습니다. 그 중에 복잡한 미로를 닮은 한 조각품이 있었는데, 처음 본 순간 그 미로 를 지나가고 싶었습니다. 그래서 그 안으로 들어갔더니 그것은 사실 미로 가 아니었습니다. 하지만 실제로 조각품 안으로 들어가는 일은 정말 신기 한 경험이었습니다. 여러분들도 꼭 보셔야 합니다! 또 다른 멋진 조각품이 이었는데, 무었인지 정확히 모르겠지만 은빛 나뭇 잎이 링 주위를 떠다니는 형상이었습니다. 자세히 설명하기는 힘들지만 아주 신기하고 흥미로운 작품이었습니다. 제친구 Regina와 저는 그 조 각품들 앞에서 수많은 사진을 찍었습니다. 제가 그 조각품들을 좋아한 이유는 바로 어디에서도 찾아볼수 없는 아주 특별한 디자인 때문입니다. 또 다른 이유가 있다면 바로 웅장한 스케일 때문입니다. 그리고 이 조각품들은 자연과 아주 적절히 조화되어있습니 다. 예를 들면 은빛 나뭇잎처럼 말입니다. 누구를 위해서 그 조각품들을 전시해 놓았냐구요? 예술에 관심이 아주 많 은 사람들이나 그저 훌륭한 작품을 감상하고 싶어하는 모든 사람들은 누 구나 이 조각품들을 즐길수 있습니다. 만약 아주 신기한 식물들만을 보기 위해 이 곳을 방문했다면 그냥 조각품들을 지나쳐서 식물원으로 가셔도 됩니다. 왜냐하면 그 조각품들을 둘러보는것이 꽤 오래 걸리는 일이기 때 문입니다. 하지만 당신이 새로운것을 경험하고 싶어하는 사람이라면 꼭 멋진 조각품들을 감상하시기 바랍니다. 저는 뉴욕 Botanical Garden 에게 평점 9점을 주 고 싶습니다. 그 곳의 몇몇 전시장들은 그리 흥미롭 지는 않아서 그냥 지나치기도 했기 때문입니다. 하지 만 거의 모든 전시장들이 훌륭하기 대문에 별 10개중 9개를 주고 싶습니다. 저에게 그곳을 다시 방문할 기회가 주어진다면 반드시 다시 가고 싶습니다. 다음번에는 식물을 주제로한 체 험 프로그램들을 경험하고 싶습니다. 이번 방문에서 그 프로그램들을 하지 못한것이 매우 아쉽네요. 뉴욕 Botanical Garden은 정말 훌륭한 곳입니다. 그 조각 예술품들 외에도 식물원안에는 아름다운 꽃 나무와 들이 여러 곳에 전시되어 있습니다. 제가 평생 한번 도 본적이 없는 꽃들도 전시되어 있습니다. 그 곳은 정말 꼭 봐야할 것들로 가득 차있습니다. 제 친구 Regina와 그 훌 륭한 전시물들 앞에서 재밌는 사진을 찍은것도 빼놓을수 없 는 추억입니다.

It seems that both of you truly enjoyed the trip to the Botanical Garden! I, in fact, have not had a chance to visit there; however, I strongly think that your reports, indeed, serve as a tour guide with lively and vivid descriptions as I read them. Both reports have fluidity by use of transitions and convey intimacy by casual and candid tones. I have suggestions for each of you. For Joo Eun, your article feels very intimate and emotional that it almost loses another part of the story such as factual events. Adding more details of the garden and using more verbs that carry actions rather than "be" verbs will benefit your article. For Regina, introducing the Time Square at the end for comparison is a great choice you made. Your article is well balanced as of now, but if you want to add more complexity to it, developing an extended comparison between the Time Square and the Botanic Garden will create depth.


Normally, a trip to a garden doesn’t seem very exciting. A trip to the New York Botanical Garden is an exception.


You are welcomed into the garden by plenty of trees and bushes and blooming flowers. The smell of pure nature overwhelms you but it’s refreshing. There are people eating lunches on the green grass with family. Kids run freely down the low hills and it’s a lovely sight.


In front of the conservatory, there were beau- tiful structures. These structures were simple yet pretty. I can look at it for hours without get- ting dizzy or tired of it. It has a clean vibe to it because it isn’t crazy and all over the place. I was extremely lucky because it was a bright and sunny day so I got a great look at these sculptures. It was definitely impressive and ravishing. There was this one structure that almost resembled a maze. When I first saw it, I dashed towards it, eager to go through the sculpture. When I entered the sculpture, I realized that it wasn’t really a maze. But, still I continued walking through it. It was a cool feeling being actually inside the structure. It’s a must-see! acould tell the silver leaves “floating” around a ring. It’s complicated to describe but it was intriguing. Regina and I couldn’t help but to pose for some pictures with these sculptures. How could you not?? What I absolutely loved about these sculptures is the unique design. I have never seen anything else like these sculptures. What else that drew all the people to the structures are their big size. They weren’t humongous but they were pretty big. The art of these structures has something to do with nature. For one, the silver sculpture had leaves as the focus. Who are the sculptures for? Anyone who has a deep interest in art or just wants to see something magnificent should stop by the sculptures. If you are at the garden for the actual orchids and plants then I suggest you skip the structures and go straight to the conservatory because it will take you awhile to see everything. But if you are open to anything new and willing, then stopping by isn’t a bad idea. I’d rate my experience at the New York Botanical Garden as a 9 out of a 10. The sections I visited in the garden weren’t very interactive. You would just look at it and not do anything with it or to it. But other- wise, since it was pleasing to look at, I give it nine full stars out of ten stars. If I had the opportunity to stop by the garden again, I totally would! Who wouldn’t go to the New York Botanical Garden if they had the chance?! Next time, I would love to stop by the interactive pro- grams they have. It would be interesting to do activities involving plants. The only thing I regret is not stopping by those activities. The entire garden, overall, was absolutely gorgeous. Besides the structures, you could go into the conservatory to look at the glamour of the pretty orchid flowers. There are several lev- els and sections. It was almost never-ending! There were so many special flowers I’ve never even seen in my entire life. Everything in the New York Botanical Garden is fabulous and a definite must-see! I recommend stopping by these structures because it’s un- like any other structure I’ve ever seen. Especially with the green trees and the well-built conservatory complimenting it. The trip turned out to be really fun which was surprising for a garden. I had my best friend, Regina, next to me to take silly pictures in front of all the amazing things we saw!
