We have graded all our cycling adventures to help you choose the right trip. You will also find more detailed information about the terrain, the bikes and daily cycling distances on individual tour pages.
Easy
Suitable for cyclists who enjoy easy and relatively short rides on flat or gently undulating terrain. Ideal if you simply want to explore a region by bike at a relaxed pace.
Moderate
Medium length rides are suitable for cyclists who are used to undulating routes with occasional energetic climbs. You’ll be cycling mainly on trails and quiet roads and you should have a reasonable level of fitness.
Choose your Comfort Level
We’ve given each of our tours a comfort rating to give you a general idea about the standard of accommodation you will be staying in at the end of your day’s adventure.
Often you’ll stay in different styles of accommodation during your trip; so we make an average rating across the entire tour. For more details on each tour, and to see more specific information about where you will stay each night, please see our tour tour notes.
Tour Comfort Basic
Our basic accommodation can offer the most rewarding and memorable places to stay. These are usually communal or camping style with shared facilities. Running hot and cold water may be unreliable and overall comfort levels are basic.
Simple
These are often small, family run establishments or campsites which provide a no-frills experience with adequate amenities and service standards. Sleeping arrangements are simple, sometimes with en suite facilities.
Standard
Mid-range accommodation which offers a good level of service often with other amenities such as a restaurant, bar, garden or swimming pool. Generally rooms will be comfortable with en-suite facilities.
Comfortable
Hand-picked and chosen for their character, location or local importance, these properties have excellent facilities and a higher level of comfort and service. They provide the perfect wind down after an active day.

Staying in simple accommodation, these tours are great value for money, using mainly public transport to get around; you are assured of a fun and authentic travel experience
Classic Explore
Packed with adventure, these tours offer inspiring destinations and authentic travel experiences at a reasonable price. Using all kinds of transport and accommodation, we’ll take you off the beaten track to discover the true heart of the people and places you visit.

L Premium Explore
These tours are perfect if you want to combine an original, off-beat classic adventure with the added comfort of hand-picked accommodation chosen for its character, location or local importance. Revel in adventurous days followed by relaxing nights.
Challenging
Longer, more demanding rides for cyclists who enjoy hilly terrain with some challenging ascents. The routes demand a good level of fitness and may include some non-technical, off-road riding.
Tough
Tough grade cycling takes us into more demanding terrain, with long and steep climbs, sometimes on difficult surfaces and at high altitudes. These rides suit experienced cyclists with high levels of fitness and mental stamina.
