On this exhilarating tour we cycle across the Middle Atlas, discovering Berber settlement, palm fringed gorges and fortifi ed kasbahs. We cross desert plateaux, admire mountain lakes and head for the dramatic fi ssures of the Dades Gorge, passing groves of almonds and walnuts.
8 day tour itinerary
Day 1 Join tour Marrakech. Day 2 Aït Sidi Hsaine Drive to El Ksiba, ride into Middle Atlas towards Tiz n’ Isly Day 3 Imilchil Cross into the High Atlas via lake Tislit to Imilchil. Day 4 Aït Haddidou Ride to Melloul Valley over Tizi n’Ouerz pass to Ait Haddidou. Day 5 Aït Oudinar Descend and ride through Dades Gorge to Ait Oudinar. Day 6 Ouarzazate Cycle to Ait Youl, then to Bou Trarar and along
the valley of the Roses to El Kelaa Mgouna. Transfer to Ouarzazate Day 7 Marrakech Cycle to Ait Ben Haddou, visit the Kasbah. Cycle along the scenic Ounila valley to Anmiter village. Transfer to Marrakech. Day 8 Tour ends Marrakech.

Accommodation: 3 nights standard hotels, 2 nights basic local house, 2 nights basic auberge. Meals: 7 breakfasts, 5 lunches and 4 dinners are included. Tour staff: Explore Tour Leaader cycles with the group each day. Included Bike: We provide 21 gear Stockli XC front suspension mountain bikes – see tour notes for details. Route and Terrain: On this tour we cycle approximately 205 km over 6 days with a further optional 35 km available. Over 50% of the cycling is off-road with a mixture of dirt roads and gravel tracks with some long fast descents on surfaces that require experience and care. The climbs include long ascents over both tarmac and off-road passes, up to 2900m altitude. A 4WD support vehicle accompanies the tour in full, providing transfers between cycling points and carrying luggage. Group size: Generally 12 to 16.
