Cycle with us through Cuba as we tour the colonial capital, explore tropical forests and pedal past the limestone landscape of ‘mogotes’. We also ride through the hills of Topes de Collantes Nature Reserve and along the Caribbean coast to Trinidad, stopping to swim in tropical pools and see the historic Bay of Pigs.


15 day tour itinerary


Day 1 Tour starts Havana. Days 2/4 Tropical backroads Cycle from Soroa to Las Terrazas: an area of verdant forests, waterfalls and jungle rivers. Pedal along quiet backroads to San Diego, famous for its hot springs. Days 5/7 Vinales Ride on quiet country roads to Vinales, famous for its tobacco and ‘mogotes’ landscape, which we use as a base for three nights. Day 8 Caribbean coast Drive to Guajimico. En route we pass the infamous Bay of Pigs and visit the well-preserved town of Cienfuegos. There is also an opportunity to swim in the sea. Days 9/11 Trinidad Cycle


down the Caribbean coast to the colonial town of Trinidad and inland to the ‘Valley of the Sugar Mills’. Day 12 Downhill free-wheel Explore the forest clad hills of Topes de Collantes. Drive to Santa Clara, home to Che Guevara’s memorial and mausoleum. Day 13 Rural Cuba Cycle through the hidden green oasis of Valle Yumuri. Return to Havana. Day 14 Havana Enjoy a free day to explore the capital. Day 15 Tour ends in Havana

Route and Terrain: On this tour we cycle 335 km over ten days (an average of 34 km per day) with further optional rides available. The terrain is mainly fl at, tarmac roads, although the tarmac can be in poor condition in places. There are some uphill sections. We have graded the route as moderate.
