Cycle the Vitava and Elbe valleys from Prague in the Czech Republic to Meissen in Germany


Explore this ancient landscape as we cycle through the basalt hills of the Czech Republic to the sandstone canyons of ‘Saxon Switzerland’. The Vltava and Elbe Rivers meander throughout this delightful region and link some of central Europe’s fi nest historic towns and cities. Along the way we visit the fortress town of Terezin and explore the beautiful Czech capital of Prague.

Day 1 Join tour Prague. Day 2 The Garden of Bohemia Cycle through beautiful rolling countryside known as the ‘Garden of Bohemia’ to the small town of Melnik. Days 3/4 Ruined Fortresses Cycle along the banks of the river Elbe to Litomerice. Visit the fortress town of Terezin. Days 5/6 ‘Saxon Switzerland’ Explore the region known as the ‘Saxon Swtizerland’, famous for its sandstone rock formations and craggy canyons. Follow the Elbe River to the dramatic fortress of Konigstein and continue to


the small town of Pirna. Cycle through sandstone hills and riverside meadows to the city of Dresden, passing Pilinitz castle and Blue Wonder Bridge along the way. Continue past beautiful vineyards to the town of Meissen. This cathedral city makes the perfect base to relax and enjoy a glass of the famous local wine. Day 7 Prague Enjoy a walking tour of the romantic Czech capital with its incredible mix of architectural styles, from the medieval to art nouveau. Day 8 Tour ends Prague.
