Cycling through the unspoilt villages and rural landscapes of southern Poland and Slovakia


Poland is an idyllic location for this cycle holiday as we meander through its unspoilt landscapes, medieval towns and traditional timber-framed villages. Surrounded by the Beskid Mountains, we cycle on cliff-cut paths along the picturesque Dunajec Gorge and into Slovakia. We will sample some delicious local cuisine and experience a warm welcome from the locals.


8 day tour itinerary


Day 1 Join tour Krakow airport. Days 2/3 Foothills of the Tatras Mountains Take a cable car to the summit of Mount Gubalowka. Enjoy the ride down to the timber-framed village of Chocholow. Follow a disused railway line, country lanes and a riverside path past the confl uence of the White and Black Dunajec Rivers. Cycle through the historic village of Lopuszna and on to the impressive Niedzica castle. Day 4 Dunajec Gorge Cycle the winding banks of the Bialka River to Spisz, a region rich in history, folk culture and castles. Day 5 Slovakia

Cross the border taking the ‘Pieniny Way’, a path hewn from the cliffs of the Dunajec Gorge. Day 6 Feudal villages Cross back into Poland to the spa town of Szczawnica. Cycle to Rytro, an old feudal village at the foot of castle ruins. Continue through the Poprad Valley to Stary Sacz. Day 7 Krakow Explore by bike on a cycle tour of Krakow’s market square, medieval quarter and the historic Jewish Kazimierz district. Day 8 Tour ends Krakow.

The terrain is mostly fl at or downhill with several short uphill sections on country lanes, gravel lanes or cycle tracks. There is vehicle back up for emergencies.
